CBN set to launch N5000 note

CBN to introduce N5000 note, to covert 5, 10, 20 notes to coins, for launch early next year, says CBN Governor

Nigeria's last three CBN governors - Sanusi, Soludo and Sanusi - have introduced five new notes - N100, N200, N500, N1,000 and N5,000.

Clement Isong - 50k, N1, N5, N10 & N20; Abdul Ahmed - N50; Joseph Sanusi - N100, N200 & N500; Charles Soludo - N1000; Lamido Sanusi - N5000.

Margaret Ekpo (1914-2006), Hajia Gambo Sawaba (1933-2001) and Funmilayo Kuti (1900-1978) faces are to appear on the proposed N5,000 note.

What will the effect of the introduction of the new note have on the economy is what we await to see.
